The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) is a non-profit organisation whose members, all IT specialists, work on standardisation of the Internet.

All the aspect of the Internet is studied at the IETF, so some standards are for the internationalisation. Marc Blanchet is actually the copresident of the internationalisation of domain names working group. He has written an Internet-draft on the preferred language tag.
